[Kijkdoos *2 - Lutz Baumann & Annika Hauke]
THE MYTHIC WISH IMAGE AND THE FOSSILS OF AUTHENTICITY
For the second edition of De Kijkdoos [Kijkdoos *2 - Lutz Baumann & Annika Hauke] presents two works that came out of their first collaboration during the Augen Zu, 2010, photography symposium at ArToll Kunstlabor. The works Der Schweizer and Firelli Furore both developed around the theme of sleep yet they inhabit different strata of thought, both conceptually as in their execution.

I H H is a show that embraces photography, and looks into its quality of being readable as documenting reality.
Even though this notion has been challenged by artists and discussed endlessly, the photograph is still to a large extent connected to the idea of capturing the real. Whether it’s the artists’ intention or not, the viewer will most often immediately connect a photo directly to reality and look for some kind of narrative, different than when viewing a painting, for example.
The exhibition I H H plays with this notion, and shows photos that exist on the borderline between being completely autonomous and being actual references to situations of the past.
TPTP invites you to experience the different worlds of 18 photo works made by 19 artists.
Each photo is accompanied by a contextualizing text by the artist.
*Photo: From “Love, Pinkie” – a series of photos made by photographer Daniel Holdfeld as he was invited by Oscar-nominated film director Amy Berg (London) to create original photography in the context of her documentary film “Bhutto”.
